XYP’s Automatic Splicing Machine Steals the Spotlight; Strong Outlook for H2
Packaging machinery and materials manufacturer XYP (8421) participated in this year's Taipei International Packaging Industry Show (Taipei Pack), showcasing an automatic splicing machine capable of 24-hour continuous production. Inquiries and price requests from customers were robust, increasing by over 20% compared to last year. It is estimated that these inquiries will convert into orders in the second half of the year, bolstering revenue and profit growth for the current year.
Rita Chuang, General Manager of XYP, pointed out that the company has integrated AI into both process management and factory production, leading to improvements in production efficiency and yield. Furthermore, joint raw material procurement across its three factories in Taiwan, Brazil, and Indonesia has reduced production costs and helped enhance profit margins. While XYP's exports—including packaging materials like shrink films and laminated bags, as well as equipment like automatic labeling and splicing machines—generate US dollar accounts receivable, these funds are used to pay for imported raw materials. This creates a natural hedge that reduces foreign exchange losses, ensuring that both core business and overall performance will be profitable in the second quarter.
An XYP executive revealed that domestic and international inquiries at this exhibition increased by more than 20% compared to last year. These are expected to convert into orders in the second half of the year, contributing to this year's growth. Additionally, a major manufacturer specializing in complete food and beverage production lines is currently in talks with XYP regarding a potential partnership.
XYP noted that the third quarter is traditionally the peak sales season for summer beverages and Ghost Festival (Zhongyuan) offerings; therefore, third-quarter operations are expected to outperform the same period last year.
